Our environmental policy
Continental Wood Products Ltd is registered for both FSC and PEFC certified timber, and carries substantial stocks of certified timber over a wide range of products. The Company is a major supplier of Baltic and Swedish timber and it is the company's policy to be concerned in matters of forest management and sustainability. With this in mind the company is actively involved with its various supplying mills, with a view to achieving 100% certification of all its softwood imports.
All Continental Wood Products' shippers have been made aware of this policy and are maintaining records of supplying areas with a view to future monitoring and registration. The company is committed to obtaining all timber from legitimate sources and legally compliant suppliers operating in accordance with the laws of their country.
Continental Wood Products Ltd does not source any timber species prohibited under the Convention of International Trade of Endangered Species.

Timber Trade Federation (TTF)
The Timber Trade Federation represents the interests of the wood and wood products industry to a diverse range of stakeholders, from the UK Government and EU to specifiers and consumers of wood.
Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)
FSC is an international not-for-profit membership-based organisation that brings people together to find solutions to the problems created by bad forestry practices and to reward good forest management.
Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes (PEFC)
The PEFC Council is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organisation, founded in 1999 which promotes sustainably managed forests through independent third party certification. The PEFC provides an assurance mechanism to purchasers of wood and paper products that they are promoting the sustainable management of forests.
