Softwood Director

As Softwood Director, Nigel is responsible for purchasing, quality control, stock management and product development. Nigel is also on the Administration Board of CWP's own sawmill in Estonia – EWP.

Brief career history

Nigel started in the Timber industry in 1978 with J Alsford Ltd as a management trainee, working through yard & warehousing operations, logistics, branch management, and port operations. He became Manufacturing Director for 7 years, during which time Nigel gathered a wealth of hands on Timber Industry knowledge.

After spending two years with Montague F Upton, Nigel returned to E Jones / Alsford Timber as Purchasing Director for 5 years.

Nigel brings to Continental Wood a sound knowledge of all aspects of the Timber industry from the needs of the Merchant Customer through all aspects of logistics and manufacturing.

Interesting facts

Nigel has a keen interest in Motorsports and cars in general and would love to own an old or vintage Bentley (in his dreams). He has travelled extensively, recently discovering a passion for the mountain region of southern Spain.

He likes to cook and regularly hosts the annual Continental Wood summer barbeque.
